In July 2016, Dr. Carlos A. Coello Coello and one of his PhD students (Raquel Hernández Gómez) traveled to Denver, Colorado, USA, to attend the 2016 Genetic and Evolutionary Computation Conference (GECCO'2016).

Although Dr. Coello could stay in Denver only for a very short period of time, he had a good time there, since he was able to relax and to enjoy of this peaceful city.

This conference was also great for Raquel who was able to obtain two important Best Paper Awards: one at the Graduate Student Workshop and another one at the Track of Evolutionary Multiobjective Optimization. With no doubt, these are two great reasons to celebrate.
