CEC'2011 (New Orleans, Louisiana, USA), June 2011

In June 2011, Dr. Carlos A. Coello Coello traveled to New Orleans, Louisiana, USA, to attend the 2011 IEEE Congress on Evolutionary Computation (CEC'2011).

This trip was particularly important for Dr. Coello for two main reasons. First, he was coming back to New Orleans for the first time after his graduation from Tulane University (in 1996). Second, he received his IEEE Fellow plaque during the conference's banquet.

Dr. Coello traveled with several of his PhD students and with some friends to New Orleans. As can be seen in the pictures below, New Orleans remains as a very attractive city, and still remains very warm as well.

Below, you can see pictures of some parts of New Orleans, including its famous Aquarium, Tulane University, Bourbon street, the Mississippi river, Riverwalk, the superdome, downtown, and the conference. In some of the pictures, you can see Dr. Coello with his book co-author, Dr. David A. Van Veldhuizen.
