On October, 2005, three members of EVOCINV (Efrén Mezura
Montes, Nareli Cruz Cortés and Antonio López Jaimes)
traveled to Torreón, Coahuila, in northern Mexico, to
attend the XVIII National Congress and Fourth
International Congress on Computer Science organized
by the National Association of Educative
Institutions in Computer Science (ANIEI for its acronym
in Spanish).
The above EVOCINV members attended ANIEI'2005 in order
to receive awards for their theses. Efrén was
awarded the First Place in the National
Contest of Theses (in the category of PhD thesis in
Computer Science), and Nareli was awarded the Second
Place. Antonio was awarded the Second Place
in the category of Masters theses in Computer Science.
These three awards (an unprecedented achievement for
EVOCINV) made us feel very proud at CINVESTAV.
EVOCINV sponsored the trip of the three above winners
(plane ticket, hotel and travel expenses) as a recognition
for their achievement. Additionally, Efrén received
a cash award of $10,000 mexican pesos (about $1,000 US
dollars).
