On October, 2007, Ricardo Landa Becerra traveled to Chihuahua, Chihuahua
in northern México, to attend the XX National and Sixth International
Congress on Computer Science organized by the National
Association of Educative Institutions in Computer Science
(ANIEI for its acronym in Spanish).
Ricardo attended ANIEI'2007 to receive an award for his PhD thesis.
He is, in fact, the only member of EVOCINV who has received two awards
from ANIEI (he received one for his MSc thesis, back in 2003). Ricardo
was awarded the First Place in the National Contest of
Theses (in the category of PhD thesis in Computer Science). Needless
to say, all of the current and past EVOCINV members we are very proud of
his outstanding performance.
EVOCINV sponsored the trip of Ricardo (plane ticket, hotel and travel
expenses) as a recognition for his achievement. Additionally, Ricardo
received a cash award of $10,000 mexican pesos (about $950 US dollars).
Below, you can see some pictures of the beautiful city of Chihuahua,
the Faculty of Engineering of the Autonomous University of Chihuahua
(where ANIEI'2007 took place) and also from the ceremony where Ricardo
received his award.
