| In July, 2008, Dr. Carlos A. Coello Coello attended the2008 Genetic and Evolutionary Computation Conference(GECCO'2008), which took place in Atlanta, Georgia, in the USA.
Dr. Coello took several of his students with him to Atlanta: Luis Vicente Santana Quintero, Antonio López Jaimes and Saúl Zapotecas Martínez. Two collaborators of Dr. Coello also attended GECCO'2008: Dr. Oliver Schütze, who is currently a researcher at CINVESTAV-IPN and Dr. Arturo Hernández-Aguirre, who is currently a researcher at CIMAT, in Guanajuato.
Below, you can see some pictures of the famous Atlanta Aquarium, the Coca Cola World and the Natural History Museum. There are also a few pictures of downtown Atlanta.
The conference was great, and all the EVOCINV members were very happy to find out that Luis Vicente received the best paper award at theGraduate Student Workshop, and that Dr. Schütze received the best paper award from the Evolutionary Multi-Objective Optimization track of GECCO'2008.
