At the end of May, 2008, Dr. Carlos A. Coello Coello was an invited speaker at the 2008 International Workshop on Nature Inspired Computation and Applications, which was held in Hefei, China. This workshop was hosted and organized by the Nature Inspired Computation and Applications Laboratory (NICAL), which is affiliated with the Department of Computer Science and Technology at the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC).

Although Dr. Coello spent only two days in Hefei, due to some time constraints, he enjoyed a lot the city and his interaction with the attendants and the other invited speakers. Dr. Ke Tang was a wonderful host, and was always on top of things during the workshop. Below, you can see several pictures from the hotel where Dr. Coello stayed, as well as several pictures from the city, the University of Science and Technology of China, and a few other places to which he was taken during his visit. Needless to say, Dr. Coello had a great time during this short trip to China (his first ever).
