In September, 2008, Saúl Zapotecas-Martínez and Dr. Oliver Schütze traveled to Dortmund, Germany, to attend the 10th International Conference on Parallel Problem Solving from Nature (PPSN'2008). Unfortunately, and due to some personal problems, Dr. Carlos A. Coello Coello was unable to attend this conference.

Saúl met several important researchers in the field, as the pictures below indicate (he is with Dr. Simon Lucas and with Dr. Joshua Knowles in some of them). He also met Dr. Alfredo García Hernández-Díaz, who has been a close colaborator of EVOCINV during the last few years, and is also good friends with Dr. Coello.

As expected, the conference was very well organized, and was a great success. There was also enough beer for everyone (no trip to Germany can be complete without such important item), and Dr. Günter Rudolph led the way with a toast during the banquet (we have a picture to witness this!).
