In early July, 2018, Dr. Carlos A. Coello Coello traveled to Rio de Janeiro to attend the 2018 IEEE Congress on Evolutionary Computation (CEC'2018), which was part of the 2018 IEEE World Congress on Computational Intelligence (WCCI'2018).

The conference was very well organized and Dr. Coello enjoyed attending the paper presentations as well as some of the plenary talks. He also had a great time in this beautiful city which he was visiting for the second time.
