On May 29th, 2012, Adriana Lara López successfully defended her PhD
thesis entitled "Using Gradient Based Information to Build Hybrid
Multi-objective Evolutionary Algorithms".
The PhD jury consisted of: Dr. Katya Rodríguez Vázquez (from IIMAS-UNAM),
Dr. Arturo Hernández Aguirre (from CIMAT), Dr. Luis Gerardo de la Fraga
(from CINVESTAV-IPN), Dr. Debrup Chakraborty (from CINVESTAV-IPN), and Dr.
Oliver Schütze & Carlos A. Coello Coello (Adriana's co-advisors).
Several of Adriana's friends, some of her relatives and her husband,
attended the defense, as can be seen in the pictures below. After the
defense, there was a meal for all the attendants to celebrate Adriana's
graduation.
