On December 7th, 2012, Eduardo Vázquez Fernández successfully defended his PhD thesis entitled "Development of Artificial Intelligence Techniques for Playing Computer Chess". The jury consisted of: Dr. Nareli Cruz Cortés (from CIC-IPN), Dr. Andrés Gómez de Silva Garza (from ITAM), Dr. Luis Gerardo de la Fraga (from CINVESTAV-IPN), Dr. Ricardo Landa Becerra (from CINVESTAV Tamaulipas) and Dr. Carlos A. Coello Coello (Eduardo's advisor). Several of Eduardo's friends and relatives attended his defense, as can be seen in the pictures below. After the defense, there was food and drinks for all the attendants to celebrate Eduardo's graduation. |
