On June 28th, 2007, Ricardo Landa Becerra successfully defended his PhD thesis entitled "Use of Domain Information to Improve the Performance of an Evolutionary Algorithm".


The PhD jury consisted of: Dr. Carlos Eduardo Mariano Romero (from IMTA), Dr. Arturo Hernández Aguirre (from CIMAT), Dr. Luis Gerardo de la Fraga (from CINVESTAV-IPN), Dr. José Matías Alvarado Mentado (from CINVESTAV-IPN), and Dr. Carlos A. Coello Coello (Ricardo's advisor).


After the defense, there was some food and some drinks. However, we kept no pictures of the celebration, but only pictures of the PhD defense, which are shown below.
