On September 29th, 2005, Gregorio Toscano Pulido successfully defended his PhD thesis entitled "On the Use
of Self-Adaptation and Elitism for Multiobjective Particle Swarm Optimization".
The PhD jury consisted of: Dr. Arturo Hernández Aguire (from CIMAT), Dr. Katya
Rodríguez Vázquez (from IIMAS-UNAM), Dr. Xiaoou Li (from CINVESTAV-IPN),
Dr. Francisco José Rambó Rodríguez Henríquez (from CINVESTAV-IPN),
and Dr. Carlos A. Coello Coello (Gregorio's advisor).
After the defense, Gregorio shared this important achievement with his parents and there was a memorable
celebration (lots of food and alcohol). Due to self-imposed restrictions, only pictures from the PhD defense
