Sixth International Conference on Computing in Civil and Building Engineering (Berlin, Germany), July 1995.

In July, 1995, Dr. Coello visited Berlin to attend the Sixth International Conference on Computing in Civil and Building Engineering. The pictures below show how did Berlin look right after the reunification of the two Germanies. Two of the pictures show the checkpoint "Charlie" (which would become rather famous because it became the first point of entry to Western Germany upon the fall of the infamous Berlin wall). There is a museum devoted to the Berlin wall right across the street from checkpoint "Charlie". This was a very hot summer in Berlin, but it was also a rather exciting (and unforgettable) trip.
